Yesterday we took a tram up to the cliffs of the area we are staying (more specifically it was Muren) and hiked for a bit over 6 miles. Tired legs for sure...  The valley of Luaterbrunnen is beautiful.  There were many waterfalls, animals, green fields, small houses, and clouds just floating by.  Thought the trams were full of tourists it seemed like the trail was ours alone for the duration.  It was a bit overcast and cool, but moving along was the thing that kept us warm. So that was our motivation for the most part.  Though the food has been mostly meat, cheese, and beer it seems like we are doing enough activities to burn it off. So that’s a good thing…

Aaron and Chris have been climbing and hanging on just about everything they can so far.  I’m jealous at times, but I’ve been standing by so I can take a picture of it.  Matt has been giving me camera lessons along the way so I’m glad I know how to use my camera better.  Autumn, Cherie, and Vicki have all been in good spirits so everything has been on the up and up.  No complaints!

Here’s some pictures of the hike…

PS:  Can someone tell Dan K. that Matt and the famous Rick Steves’ say hello!

  1. Everything is so big and green and lush. The landscape is mighty different from what I've seen during my lifetime. It is impressive. By the way, all of your blog descriptions are fascinating and the composition of the photos is striking. Keep up the good work!!

  2. How beautiful. I'm curious, though, by the description of the food as including much meat. What is Victoria eating?

  4. Hello, Kathleen. Thanks for finally making an appearance on our blog. I've eaten a variety of salads and pasta dishes...thank you for your concern. In terms of the scarves, there are many as yet unseen photos I will no doubt delight you with upon my arrival home...you'll note the scarves then (though I ultimately brought only one of yours d/t limited space in my bag:-( ) -V

  5. Really nice pictures. Your lessons are paying off!
The picture of Chris imitating Dan or a goat is great...although Max didn't recognize him! Max liked the baby cow :). Steve, the little boys and I hiked on the dike yesterday...your hike looks so much more scenic! Thanks for taking the time on your vacation to share it all with us.

  6. We are so impressed by the scenery and landscaping! It is awesome that you all are able to have this experience over there! Just to keep you updated as to what's going on here: Reba licked her paw, Kiki slept all afternoon, Rustie chased Reba and we went to Ribbits for cruise night! So, as you can tell, your day was MUCH more exciting than ours! We love you ALL. Take good care of each other and thanks for sharing your awesome trip with us!

  8. Well, the scarves started with Matt having one because he is up on european fashion. Chris really like Matts scarves so he made some "random" coments on them.
Now Vicki and Kathy are just talking about the scarves that they bot have and share.
So in short some coments are on Matts scarves and some are about Vicki's...

  10. Actually, Victoria (why are you writing as "Matt?"), I have commented extensively on this here blog. I am hoping it will buy me some good will and encourage you to do the same on my modest little wedding blog. You're in France now, yes? Eat tar tar. Raw dead animal sounds delicious.
